The third prosthetic is either a permanently affixed full denture restoration or a removable, partial denture.
Supported Dentures
Supported dental restorations are also known as dental bridges. This means that the prosthetics are placed over dental implants and attached to adjoining, healthy teeth. Supported restorations are strong, durable, and permanent. However, just as patients are encouraged to avoid chewing on hard foods or ice with their natural teeth, this advice is also given in regard to supported restorations which can become loose and need to be re-attached. With a dedicated daily dental routine of brushing and flossing, as well as regularly scheduled dental examinations and cleanings, supported dental restorations will last for many years.
The Procedure
There are several phases related to a dental tooth implant.
